Network and Capacity Building

Mindful that the challenge faced by the MFIs and their clients is a disruption that is mulri-dimensional and not just a financial problem, RestartME believes that a more systems-based approach in analyzing any business and livelihood recovery challenge must be adopted.  Knowing the enabling and disabling factors crucial for the success of such plans can identify more strategic and complementing interventions.

As such, RestartME commissions research projects and engages academic partners and free-lance subject matter experts.  It has so far funded and is currently involved in the following projects:

  1. The Entrepreneurial Practices and Interests of Internally Displaced Persons (IDPs) in Marawi City: A focused market study in a major temporary resettlement area in Marawi.

  2. Program Development and Research on the Rice Crisis in the Philippines: An analysis of the impact of the Rice Tariffication law on the Philippine Rice Farmers

  3. A scoping study of Government support programs for the informal sector and financial intermediaries amidst the COVID19 crisis

Recommended action steps in the research findings provides RestartMe a list of other complementary projects that it either funds or mobilizes other partners who can fund and/or provide their professional services in kind.
