Today We Begin

Restart Me has been at the forefront of this pandemic by providing loan assistance and relief to affected micro-entrepreneurs. Last April 2020 they gave out 10M loan assistance each to their partner Microfinance Institutions (MFIs) -  CARD Mutually Reinforcing Institutions (CARD MRI), ASA Philippines Foundation, Taytay sa Kasuwagan, and Negros Women for Tomorrow Foundation (NWTF). They also provided loans to non-members namely Alalay sa Kaunlaran Microfinance Social Development Inc (ASKI), Ahon sa Hirap Inc. (ASHI) and Kasagana-Ka Mutual Benefit Association, Inc.

Restart Me together with its partners strive to help the growing number of affected clients through financial assistance for business continuity and daily expenses. The MFIs also used the loan to defray overhead and other operational costs.

But who are these people we are helping?

They are more than just numbers and figures affected by this pandemic. They are staff members, office workers, loan collectors, and other MFI employees risking and making time to help out their clients. They are real Nanays, Tatays, Ates and Kuyas all struggling to make ends meet while staying safe and following protocols.

One More Day is a collection of stories of these people. Those who continue to work in the offices or are on field every day. Those whose small businesses are greatly affected but continue to adapt and survive. Those who never give up and always look forward to face another day.

Through the loan assistance of Restart Me and its partners we see how each day turns from despair to a blessing. One More Day narrates stories of survival, resilience, hope, and joy.

It is when we collectively listen to each other, extend empathy to one another, and understand where we are going do we survive and continue to live for one more day.
